WPGCA is a volunteer organization.

It is the time, energy, ideas, research, legwork, pavement pounding, lobbying, meeting, head-scratching, hand-shaking, resources (also known as money), contacts, expertise, experience, and pure passion of VOLUNTEERS that will make our expansion project a reality.

That’s why we need YOU!

Being a WPGCA Volunteer doesn't mean you have to go asking people for money. There are many, many tasks that need doing that do not involve directly asking for donations.

• planning events
• manning booths at the mall
• collecting memberships
• folding & stuffing
• answering the telephone
• replying to emails
• researching funding opportunities on the internet
• preparing & collating documents
• calling other volunteers to organize a project
• baking cookies for meetings
• coordinating fun-drives
• working with the schools to get youth involved
• working with seniors to get them participating
• visiting businesses to promote our sponsorship opportunities
• distributing flyers & posters
• updating the website
• administrative assistance
• organizing a bingo night
• planning a reception for donors
• generating fun-drive ideas with your kids, and then executing one of those ideas
• starting an employee challenge at work
• putting on a dance-a-thon
• collecting pennies from your neighbors
• driving volunteers
• attending meetings & taking notes
• collecting articles from the paper
• presenting a PowerPoint at a meeting
• ... use your imagination.

You choose the job and the number of hours you are willing to commit. What we need are more hands to help lighten the work...
